Vehicle emergency kit
The wheeled vehicle operator manual and AFMAN 24-306 cover inspection, driving, and recovery of military and Air Force vehicles. A civilian trunk kit is smaller. The same idea applies: know the vehicle is fit to drive, and keep a bag for a flat, a stall, or a night on the shoulder.
Useful pieces are a light, a way to warn other drivers, a blanket, drinking water, a basic tool, and a rated strap or a shovel for a light stuck situation if you have practiced with it. A recovery strap used as a tow rope can snap and injure people. The manuals describe recovery for trained operators.
Both manuals are free in the PDF Library. The Store row is tools and vehicle gear that exist in the catalog for your country.
